Under the general supervision of the Portal Integration Project Manager, this position is responsible for contributing to design, development, implementation, and ongoing support of the Building Efficiency B2B portal and applications. Works independently to deliver business value out of our investment made in portal technology. Principal Duties: - Provide design, development and testing of new portal applications and components.
- Provide production support of existing Websphere portal framework and application components.
- Perform portal administration functions (release deployments, log analysis, routine maintenance).
- Contribute to definition of technology direction and the evaluation of emerging software technologies and processes within the portal technology stack.
- Perform hands-on experimentation and conducts technology proof of concepts.
- Work with internal customers on requirements capture and translates the requirements into technical solutions that leverage the portal platform to meet those business needs.
- Work closely with technology architect on solution development and standards creation.
Job Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or commensurate experience in the IT field.
- Minimum 7 years experience in IT with concentration in J2EE based application development and support.
- Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have experience with Java, XML, Web Services, J2EE, Web 2.0, frameworks, and familiarity with emerging technology standards.
- Experience with J2EE Portal Technologies - Websphere Portal preferred.
- Experience with Websphere Application Server.
- Experience with popular Java IDE's. RAD preferred.
- Strong Oracle database development skills including SQL, PL/SQL, data modeling.
- Familiarity with document management/web content management experience (Documentum and Day Communique preferred).
- Familiarity with Netegrity Siteminder, LDAP (Active Directory - AD/AM), and MS SQL Server.
- Must be able to collaborate with a diverse group of customers and stakeholders
