Post –Doctoral Researcher – Recording Heads - 2683

Job Description
Opening is for post-doctoral research associate to conduct thin-film materials research in the area of magnetic tunnel junctions, on a 1-year contract basis renewable for a second year.  Projects include the exploration of novel tunnel barrier materials and sensor structures with potential application to magnetic recording head sensors.
Job Requirements
Ph.D. in Physics, Materials Science, or closely related field. Preferred experience includes hands-on experience with thin-film synthesis such as sputter deposition and e-beam evaporation, as well as familiarity with structural, electrical and magnetic characterization of thin-films, multilayer structures, and magnetic tunnel junctions.  Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment are essential.
