Pre-Sales Engineer - DC Metro Area - Cisco Solution Architect

A leading provider of advanced IT lifecycle solutions that addresses the complete technology lifecycle - plan, design, integrate, operate and optimize - for the enterprise, commercial and government markets is seeking a motivated and reliable team player to join their pre-sales security team who has the skills and commitment to help our client succeed.


 


In this position your overall focus areas will be in supporting and developing processes and systems for quick and thorough responses to customer RFP's, provide systems configuration recommendations, and apply your background and experience to deliver solutions to technical problems.


 


The essential responsibilities of this Pre-Sales Consultant is to work directly with customers in pre-sales situations, and to work effectively across functions with other Presidio employees in Sales, Marketing, Proposals, Project Management, and Development areas. Specific responsibilities include:


 


o          Identify customer needs and requirements.


o          Define all of the elements of a customer's technical computing environment.


o          Answer customer questions.


o          Provide technical support to current customer and 'try-and-buy' test projects.


o          Defining customer acceptance criteria for 'try-and-buy' evaluation projects.


o          Work with Sales to respond to RFP's.


o          Attending customer calls with the Sales Representative.


o          Provide technical consultation and disseminate product information to the sales team.


o          Provide direction and mentorship to more junior Systems Engineers in the department.


 


The types of solutions that this professional will qualify and support include, but are not limited to:


o          Plan, design and implement Cisco integrated-security solutions, encompassing Cisco's End Point Security, Security Agent, Host/Network Intrusion Detection, ASA Firewall, MARS, Self Defending Network and Threat Defense System products


o          Perform penetration testing, security audits and risk analysis of systems and networks.


o          Document successful implementation techniques


o          Ensure all projects deliver a quality product on schedule with a completely satisfied customer


o          Develop high-level professional relationships with customer


o          Ensure Presidio Networked Solutions is delivering the required service(s)


Job Requirements:


o          Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


o          Good interpersonal communication and customer service skills are needed in order work successfully with prospects, customers, and cross functional teams to meet performance goals.


o          Account management and project management experience.


o          Strong aptitude for learning new technologies and understanding how to utilize them in a customer facing environment.


o          Ability to follow standard engineering principles and practices.


o          Creative approach to problem solving.


o          Travel to the prospective customer's sites as necessary.
