Preschool Lead Teacher
Job Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, ECE, or
related field is preferred. A minimum of 24 ECE/Child Development units
are expected for consideration. - 1-2+ years of prior experience working as a member of a classroom team with ECE age groups is ideal!

over curriculum and the school culture. - Must be in good physical health and have current TB clearance
- Must have D.S.S. clearance.
Duties:
Stimulates emotional, intellectual, and social growth of students by
developing and directing a developmentally appropriate curriculum that allows
for both structured and unstructured play.
- Encourages development of student self-control by
utilizing classroom management and modeling techniques. - Maintains a positive emotional environment in which children are nurtured,
respected, and loved. - Provides safe environment by maintaining orderly and clean classroom and
playground area; closely supervising students on playground equipment; following
and enforcing school and DSS standards and procedures; takes precautions in
preventing, recognizing, and managing health and safety issues. - Informs staff and parents of curriculum by preparing and submitting lesson
plans; posting schedules and curriculum outlines. - Observes and assesses children’s behavior; maintains written records of child’s
progress and behavior; conducts parent conferences; posts information outside
the classroom; sends notes home each day.
- Attends and participates in meetings and in-service training.
- Works well with other staff members to promote a positive
experience for students and parents. - Supports the mission of the school.
- Possesses important skills such as listening, verbal
communication, resolving conflict.
