JOB SUMMARY: 


 


The Pricing Manager is responsible for establishing, implementing and monitoring pricing strategies for background screening services in order to acquire new clients and retain existing accounts. This position initiates competitive pricing research and pricing policies and maintains historical pricing data for the Background Screening Division of Kroll and its competitors. The Pricing Manager will become familiar with a variety of employment screening concepts, practices, and procedures by establishing excellent working relationships with Kroll colleagues and being able to collaborate cross-functionally.  This role will rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.


 


This position will be located in Nashville, TN and will report to the Senior Vice President of Strategic Initiatives.


 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  


 


  • Performs business tasks in the area of pricing without significant supervision

  • Works with Product Line Management to formulate of pricing strategy and execution plans

  • Performs competitive bid analyses to help set prices to win client engagements

  • Prepares complex pricing proposals in response to customer requests for proposals

  • Develops discounting strategies and execution plans

  • Coordinates set up and execution of pricing tests and pilots along with relevant analysis to track and report results

  • Measures success of various pricing programs (i.e. discounting "save" programs)

  • Interfaces directly with Sales, Product, Finance and Marketing personnel

  • Works with Client Care/Account Manager to understand customer needs/requirements

  • Analyzes estimates of labor, vendor fees and other direct costs

  • Participates on proposal teams for new business opportunities

  • Ensures the timely generation of pricing submissions and complies with established review/approval process, including working directly with financial approval process

  • Assumes responsibility for the preparation of a fully compliant and competitive cost and pricing volume, establishing and coordinating schedules, cost/price model development, and cost narrative

  • Interacts effectively with internal and external clients in the best interests of KBS

  • Exercises discretion and independent judgment in support of pricing matters

  • Generates key reports of a periodic and on an ad hoc basis when necessary

  • Attends corporate meetings as required

  • Perform other duties as assigned or required


CANDIDATE EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: 


 


  • Requires BS/BA degree in Business related field including Finance, Economics, Statistics

  • CPA, CMA, CFA, MBA preferred

  • Requires 5-8 years in total business/finance experience with service-related pricing focus for at least 2 years

  • Detail and process oriented and proficient in utilizing computer systems, with significant experience in Microsoft Office Products including Word, Advanced Excel (must be expert in developing large, complex spreadsheets), Intermediate Access and PowerPoint as well as Internet technologies, proficiency in Visio a plus

  • Proficiency in Business Objects a plus

  • International pricing experience a plus

  • Excellent verbal/interpersonal communication skills are essential

  • Excellent written communications skills (the ability to prepare written business correspondence that is coherent, grammatically correct, effective, professional and engaging) are essential

  • Experience working with large and/or complex opportunities

  • Possesses and applies expertise in matters of proposal preparation

  • Good quantitative reasoning skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 


·         Sitting for long periods of time in close proximity to a computer screen.


 


TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:


Some business travel may be required, estimated at approximately 5% to 15%.


 


WORK ENVIRONMENT:


·         Climate-controlled office building located on a campus and composed of offices, cubicles, conference rooms and computer data center.


·         Individual must have the ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
