About the Job

What you will do

This position is responsible for design and maintenance of refrigeration, air flow, heating systems for Commercial Indoor Packaged Air Conditioning Equipment.

How you will do it


• Maintains understanding of theories, concepts, technical principles and processes related to mechanical aspects of indoor and outdoor packaged air conditioning equipment.
• Coordinates requirements between mechanical designers, purchasing, and production/manufacturing to generate mechanical assemblies, air conditioning assemblies and otherassociated component systems for commercial packaged air conditioning equipment
• Generates technical documentation for use within the company and/or with vendors.
• Employs system details, and fact-based analysis for problem resolution.
• Follows established procedures to determine the most suitable parts and alternate parts choices considering costs and reliability.
• Possesses knowledge of mechanical systems, and air conditioning systems best practices and safety requirements to generate and analyze designs.
• Applies codes found in UL, CE, and NEC.
• Creates and updates safety agency reports in conformance to above codes.
• Analyzes designs, modifies, and troubleshoots mechanical components and subsystems.
• Prepares and participates in design reviews. Supports technical proposal activities.
• Extrapolates ideas into product requirements and applies the philosophy of design to standard manufacturing processes.
• Innovates existing product design to meet unique customer requirements.
• Strives for continuous improvement and teamwork in product development and processes.
• Understands system requirements for electrical and mechanical systems on the equipment.
• Selects and specifies material and components, including the evaluation of vendor bids and drawings, to assure compliance with project specifications.
• Generates Engineering Change notices when required.
• Maintains project files, and ensures timely completion of deliverables according to the schedule.









What we look for
Required


• BS in Engineering with Mechanical Major or related science,.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in air conditioning design or a related field,
• Experience in a design and product development environment
• Basic understanding of fundamental business practices
• Well versed in Standard UL 1995, 60335-2-40 and AHRI 340/360
• Experience with design and construction of packaged air conditioning systems




Preferred
• MS degree in related field is preferred
• Work experience in Creo3 CAD package is desirable.
• FEA experience is desirable.
• Working knowledge of microprocessor based or PLC control systems is preferred.
