Position Description:
"Seeking a senior/principal level IC layout designer with a proven ability to perform IC layout for all aspects of complex analog, digital and mixed signal ICs utilizing advanced layout techniques and verification tools such as Cadence or Mentor Graphics.
Responsibilities include:
• IC Layout, verification and tape out of complex analog, digital and mixed signal ICs from schematic, utilizing SOI, CMOS, Bi-CMOS and SiGe technologies.
• Collaborative interaction with IC design engineers to produce and optimize layouts for cost, performance and size.
• Establish and meet project objectives and milestones.
• Mentor IC layout designers
• Continuous improvement of layout practices, methodologies, and procedures to enhance layout productivity and quality.
• Communication of technical ideas to a broad audience through discussions, written reports or presentations.
The successful candidate should have a well-rounded background, with demonstrated competencies in IC Layout quality, speed and technique.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
Associates Degree or equivalent years of experience, Lotus Notes, Microsoft Office and experience with a design layout tool.
Preferred:
Familiarity with SOI processes and techniques
and RF design building blocks and related IC layout considerations.
Understanding of IC layout and design methodologies and the application of proper layout techniques to maximize device matching while minimizing device parasitic.
Understanding of the application of proper layout techniques to maximize ESD, Latch-up and noise immunity.
Debugging skills to determine problems or issues and that could impact first silicon success or cause performance and/or yield loss and
understanding of semiconductor manufacturing.
Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux
Ability to adapt quickly to change in project complexity, work with cross-functional teams to resolve complex issues and operate within tight schedule constraints while maintaining high quality
Ability to develop new ideas and/or creative designs using innovative methodologies and/or concepts.
BSEE with 2+ years experience preferred
