This position is located in our DC, Washington facility
GENERAL SUMMARY: Performs advanced level analytical and technical tasks in support of criminal intelligence operations; works under limited supervision; performs additional duties as assigned.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provides advanced-level analytical support to mine criminal intelligence data from existing and to be deployed surveillance systems. Must be able to identify trends in data and determine what additional data is required to confirm the intelligence. Must be able to support efforts involving tactical/operational documentation, intelligence gathering systems design or other efforts requiring criminal intelligence gathering operations expertise;
2. Develop actionable intelligence based on experience and information gathered from surveillance sources, and present this information in an appropriate reporting format.
3. Researches, identifies, and recommends resources required for task execution and completion;
4. Serves as technical advisor to clients in assigned subject areas, recommending changes and identifying areas for further investigation;
5. Develops and tests new systems or updates existing systems to meet client needs;
6. Evaluates emergent relevant technologies that may result in improvements to current processes;
7. Writes and updates project documentation including system procedures, presentations, and training materials;
8. Serves as a technical team or task lead;
9. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies and subject areas;
10. Participates in special projects as required.
Requires BS/BA degree.
Requires 8-10 years experience.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Advanced knowledge of the principles, methods, processes, and applicable regulations involved in supporting criminal intelligence operations;
2. Advanced knowledge of relevant hardware, software, and other equipment as assigned;
3. Ability to serve as a technical team or task lead.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
5. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
6. Familiarity with relational databases and programming languages.
7. Familiarity with IT systems as they relate to surveillance systems.
WORKING CONDITIONS: The work is performed in a corrections office environment, client site, which requires proper safety and enhanced security precautions; work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes, or equipment.
