The Principal Scientist, R&D, Advanced Technology will be responsible for leading the new technology development efforts for the client’s next generation materials’ design, synthesis, identification, formulation, selection, characterization, and qualification efforts. You are an experienced Materials Scientist with interest in medical polymers, both thermoplastic and elastomeric.
Responsibilities include:
Conceive, plan, and lead technical development activities from concept through successful commercialization
Develop an overview of relevant technologies and products
Using expert technical skills, you will lead the evaluation and assessment of competitive products, processes, or new trends
Support R&D IP strategy and processes and participate in a creative and innovative work environment that prizes scientific inquiry and basic fundamental first principles
Develops deep customer understanding and identifies unmet needs and potential new product concepts
The Principal Scientist will have an advanced understanding of disciplined product development processes, regulatory and quality requirements, high-volume manufacturing practices, and the use of advanced materials characterization and assessment tools.
Requirements:
Minimum of BS Degree (Master’s or PhD preferred) in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or related field with a minimum of 6 years experience preferably in the medical device and/or pharmaceutical industry with a successful track record of delivering products to market or developing commercially viable technology.
