Lancaster Laboratories, a nationally recognized laboratory, is searching for a Principal Scientist to support our Molecular and Cell Biology Services department in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Principal Scientist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Develop and validate cell based and Elisa based bioassays
· Serve as technical lead and manage client projects
· Perform other cell and molecular assays
· Perform all work in a cGMP environment, documenting work as required for compliance
The ideal candidate would possess:
· Strong laboratory and organizational skills
· Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Ability to learn new methods and techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
· Ability to diagnose problems and offer solutions with a high degree of independence
· Ability to independently investigate and correct complicated laboratory or equipment problems
· Ability to independently lead a project to a satisfactory conclusion and on time
· Ability and self-motivated to self-train in new technologies or methods and implement them in the laboratory
· Ability to consult with clients on work performed for them
· Perform work in a team environment to establish a wide range of new service offerings in our cell and molecular biology test areas as well as perform a wide range of assays to support current client projects
Basic Minimum Qualifications:
· Master's or Doctorate degree in molecular and cell biology, biology, or other related science degree, or equivalent directly-related experience (two years of directly related industry experience is equivalent to one full-time year of college in related major)
· At least three years of directly related industry or academic experience
· Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
The position would involve client contact as well as the ability to lead client specific and internal projects to a successful conclusion. The position provides excellent opportunities for growth and development in a growing and expanding department within a stable successful company. The position also offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of assays and biopharmaceutical compounds.
Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., with overtime as needed, as an exempt employee. Candidates currently living in Pennsylvania or a surrounding state are encouraged to apply.
