Job Description: The Software Engineering organization needs software engineers with embedded software development experience, specifically in the areas of RADAR, Signal Processing and/or Guidance, Navigation and Control. The candidate MUST have a current DoD clearance that has been updated within the past 4 years. At a minimum, individuals satisfying these requirements could fill several open requisitions.



Candidate uses and applies extensive advanced technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques associated with C and C++ software development for embedded multi-processor systems. Provides solutions to unusually complex technical software problems using ingenuity and innovative. Works as a self starter. Follows and/or recommends changes to department processes and procedures . Reviews software products for soundness of technical judgment and adequacy. Provides guidance both to project junior staff and department junior staff. Guides the successful completion of minor programs and may function in a project leadership role. Interacts with senior software personnel through both written and verbal communication. Has extensive knowledge of emerging software technologies. Produces documentation related to the design and release of software artifacts. Supports development of advanced software ideas, and influences the successful completion of supported programs and projects. A minimum of 10 years previous experience required.



Required Skills: The candidate MUST have a current DoD clearance that has been updated within the past 4 years. Must have practical experience using C/C++ language; a minimum of 10 years in an embedded setting. Experience in the following: software development within a DoD environment, has developed architecture using embedded RTOSs (VxWorks, pSoS, Integrity), easily works with OOA/OOD and UML CASE tools. Candidate must be knowledgeable with CMM/CMMI practices. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and strong team-player. Technical Leadership of small teams and ability to coordinate with management is required.



Desired Skills: Experience using ADA and Rational APEX environment is a plus. Integration experience and test is a plus. Embedded multiprocessor design is a plus. Assembly language experience is a plus. Launcher development experience a plus.
