Department Overview

Symantec Endpoint Security products are the bedrock for Symantec's strategy for enterprise security. The flagship product, Symantec Endpoint Protection, is a group of protection mechanisms bundled into one application. It offers the following features: anti-virus, anti-spyware, firewall, intrusion prevention system, application control, device control, and proactive threat scanning.

Responsibilities

• Candidate will lead development of new features in the SEP product from design through implementation
• Features will require the ability to write/design for both Kernel and User space
• The successful candidate will provide support for customer issues on the existing code base.
• The responsibilities and tasks are split between user land code and kernel drivers.
• The successful candidate will support Win 2000 through Windows 7 with 32 and 64bit systems
• Primary responsibilities will be to deliver new features into upcoming releases (90).
• Other responsibilities will be supporting customer issues with existing products (10)

Qualifications

• BS in Comp Science with 5 - 7 years experience
• Demonstrated experience delivering a feature from conception to launch and tracking external dependencies
• The ability to drive documentation of features and must have solid communication skills - oral and written
• The ability to excel at driving a complex problem down to smaller manageable pieces with a systematic process
• Demonstrated ability to think about a problem from the end user's point of view.
• Strong familiarity and expertise in C++,Visual Studio, Windows kernel development, debugging and unit tests
