Job Title : Principal Software Engineer
Job Description:
Will work in EMC’s United Storage Division (USD) team to provide innovative solutions for System Management
Duties will include participation in cross-site multi-disciplinary teams to develop advanced features and modules
Will engage with Product Management, solicit input for product requirements, and drive feasibility studies and scoping of implementation effort
Will guide feature teams and may also be responsible for hands-on feature delivery as an Individual Contributor
Will be willing and able to take on ownership for maintaining and enhancing existing Celerra modules
Will also be expected to take responsibility for resolution of customer problem escalations
Requirements:
Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science or related field. Master's degree is a plus
Minimum of 8+ years of commercial S/W development experience in Unix/Linux and Windows environments
Strong background in application and systems programming and networking
Exposure to file systems and protocols - CIFS, NFS, iSCSI - highly desirable
Experience with developing System Management components, including GUI is desirable
Exposure to SNMP, CIM, and WS-MAN is a plus
Extensive hands-on Object Oriented Design and Programming experience is a must (one or more of C++, Java, C#, etc.)
Storage industry background, including array management and familiarity with array based replication technologies is desirable
Celerra/CLARiiON/Symmetrix experience a major plus
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills
Passion for System Mgmt and Usability
Track record in mentoring junior engineers
Understanding of S/W development life cycle and processes
