Position Description:
A Sr. Principal Quality Supplier Engineer position is in a high paced Military Aerospace Environment. Sr. Principal Quality Supplier Engineer have management responsibility for an assigned set of suppliers within a geographical region with a primary focus on suppliers providing Mechanical Structures, Microwave Assemblies and/or High Volume. In the management of suppliers, the Sr. Principal Quality Supplier Engineer relies on his supplier quality, special process and program management skill sets in the performance of quality engagements, process assessments, product qualifications and product acceptance. The Sr. Principal Quality Supplier Engineer is responsible for driving continuous improvement and results for assigned suppliers.
Sr. Principal Quality Supplier Engineer
Basic Qualifications:
*Minimum 8 years experience with Special Process Management (Welding, Brazing, Painting, Plating, Non Destructive Testing & Heat Treat).
*Minimum 8 years experience with Quality Program Management for suppliers providing Mechanical Structures, Microwave Assemblies and/or High Volume.
Minimum 8 years experience with performance of pre and post award assessments, technical data package to manufacturing data package assessments, product acceptance and process evaluations at supplier'™s facilities: Quality Systems, Technical Capability and Manufacturing Process & Capacity.
Minimum 8 years experience with problem resolution of technical issues, monitor supplier performance data to identify trends, analyzes opportunities for continuous improvement, implements supplier improvement actions and implements Lean Manufacturing.
Minimum 8 years experience working with collaboratively with Cross Business Teams and Integrated Business Teams to direct, improve, and control processes and performance
B.S. Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
Desired Qualifications:
*Advanced knowledge and experience in the management of Special Processes; Welding, Brazing, Painting, Plating, Non Destructive Testing and Heat Treating.
*In-depth knowledge of commodity manufacturing operations; Machining, Metal Fabrication Techniques and assembly of Large Mechanical Structures
*Ability to translate Military and Industry specifications/standards into flow down quality and qualification requirements for purchased material
*Experience in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance, test, inspection, Military Workmanship, manufacturing an assembly methods
*Able to lead in a cross-functional team environment with no supervision
*Evaluate and approve supplier corrective& preventive action plans.
*Ability to exercise sound judgments and apply decision making skills
*Development and Management of Supplier Control Plans
*Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
*Computer proficiency and ability to learn new applications
*Home office base set-up with extensive travel to supplier facilities using personal vehicle, or some air travel when necessary
*Program or Project Management experience
*Quality Certifications: CQM, CQE, CQA
*Welding Certification: CWI
*Non Destructive Testing: Level III Certifications
