Tygart is currently seeking a Principal Web Developer for the Federal Elections Commission located in Washington, DC.  The Federal Election Commission (FEC) was created to administer and enforce the Federal Election Campaign Act (FECA) - the statute that governs the financing of federal elections. The duties of the FEC, which is an independent regulatory agency, are to disclose campaign finance information, to enforce the provisions of the law such as the limits and prohibitions on contributions, and to oversee the public funding of Presidential elections.

The Principal Web Developer will work directly with FEC technical staff to design and implement a Disclosure application portal. Project development task include: Data/Presentation APIs for existing Map pages; new formats for data downloads (XML, CSV); automated notification of updates (RSS); and search current data for detailed receipts and disbursements and Portal entry page special pages for different audiences.

The Principal Web Developer duties include but are not limited to:

·       Provide support for AJAX mapping application enhancements

·       Provide technical assistance to FECNet, FEC intranet, development

·       Provide technical documentation and knowledge transfer to FEC IT staff

·       Provide support for other Web Development projects as may arise

·       Provide direct support to the FEC Enterprise Architect.

The ideal candidate should possess 3-5 years experience with the following technical skills:

·       Web 2.0 web technologies

·       AJAX Javascripts, SHTML, HTML

·       JSP/Servlet, J2EE, Web Services

·       Tomcat Web Server

·       XML, DTD, XML Schema, UML

·       Open Source

·       Oracle Development experience is a plus
