EMPLOYMENT OBJECTIVE
The Process & Automation Engineer is responsible for maintaining, debugging and improving automated systems and processes related to manufacturing operations. This position supports all operations associated with injection molding, lens coating, inspection, shaping and materials handling. This position is a key link in the feedback loop among manufacturing processes, operational efficiency and product quality and performance.
SPECIFIC ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Take leadership and ownership of the condition of automated manufacturing systems to ensure reliability and continual improvement.
· Take leadership and ownership of automatic manufacturing process validation and process improvements as they relate to operational efficiency and product performance.
· Analyze, evaluate and correct problems through identification of root causes of machine malfunctions and implementation of countermeasures to ensure improved reliability.
· Responsible for maintaining accurate records of malfunctions, machine anomalies, implemented countermeasures, process validation and process improvements.
· Take part in the development, factory acceptance validation, machine validation and process validation of new automatic manufacturing systems to help improve manufacturing processes.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience required.
· Solid background in process engineering and thermo-fluid systems.
· 2 to 5 years of experience in design and programming of automated systems.
· Experience with Design of Experiments.
· Ready to work within a multidisciplinary development team.
· Ready to work in a stimulating and challenging engineering environment.
· Ability to manage pressure within a fast-paced work environment.
· Willingness to take part in the development of systems integrating of state-of-the-art technologies in automated processes.
· Ability to express ideas clearly and listen to ideas of colleagues.
· Must have attention to detail, passion, a conscientious and creative approach to challenges.
· Ability to show leadership and autonomy.
· Must have effective verbal and written communication skills.
· Proficient in computer use Microsoft Office and other products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Statistical software, etc.)
· Open-minded, willing to learn new things, and innovative in thinking and problem-solving.
