SUMMARY
Lead, facilitate, and execute continuous improvement projects using a variety of Continuous Improvement Skills including Six Sigma, SPC, Lean Manufacturing, (5S/Visual Factory, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen Events) and FMEA. Projects require a cost justification; project plans and timely focused project execution resulting in measurable, sustained business improvements.
Plan and Lead Process Engineering and Continuous Improvement initiatives throughout the plant.
Lead Plant Steering Team in their Continuous Improvement Deployment
Plan and lead Six Sigma, Lean initiative. This will include but not be limited to FMEA teams, Kaizan events, workshops, etc
Develop methods and processes to improve plant operations
Prepare or take a leadership position on cost studies and justifications for all proposed changes or additions to production
Assist with the MOC & SOP Processes
Oversee, train and coach Green/Blackbelt candidates
Work with internal customers on Continuous Improvement Initiatives as required.
Coordinate and Lead Inter-Plant Lean Audits
Coordinate SPC activities throughout the plant
Work with the management team and plant manager to identify Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for the processes.
Be a resource and/or train plant personnel in the Continuous Improvements methodologies.
Work with finance to track projects
Represent Process Engineering at plant meetings
Conduct Laboratory and / or Pilot Plant Testing as needed to provide data for design and costs purposes
Work directly with production and maintenance personnel to control production process systems
Develop cost justifications for improvement projects and corrective actions
Be a resource for the Plant Information System team.
Determine and install appropriate performance metrics that will promote long-term continuous improvement programs consistent with the operating objectives of the plant.
Provide support for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relationships.
REQUIREMENTS:
B.S. Degree in Chemical, Metallurgical, or other disciplines of Engineering (based on experience),
Minimum: 5 – 7 years of continuous improvement/operations/engineering experience
Lean Manufacturing / Enterprise exposure; Six Sigma Training (Black Belt certification required); general business exposure; proficient in PC applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Minitab, Database)
Material and Equipment Used Essential:
PC desktop or lap top, Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint), Minitab, Database, phone, other general office equipment

Able to work with sense of urgency to develop plans and meet timelines; work at a fast pace with minimal supervision; flexible to adjust to business requirements that may cause frequent interruptions and changing priorities. Able to travel as needed including overnight travel.
