Process Engineer responsible for influencing product designs to insure economical manufacture. Developing improved manufacturing and testing processes that are necessary to achieve the performance and cost requirements of future device applications. Debugging & qualifying high volume assembly/test equipment. Participating in advanced quality planning activities. Facilitating the successful launch of new products. Transferring knowledge to make site personnel. Support improvement projects to reduce cycle time, defects and manufacturing cost. Setting up sample lines and process development equipment. Working with suppliers and contract manufacturers to insure processes are capable, have sufficient controls in place, can meet delivery requirements, and meet cost targets.

BSME/BSEE degree required as a minimum. Excellent planning and organization skills. Ability to effectively communicate internally and externally at all levels and positively influence and build relationships with global team members. Engineering aptitude to participate in design reviews and assist during debug & qualification. Ability to identify & correct problems by utilization of root cause problem solving skills and experimental methods such as design of experiments (DOE). Functional understanding of advanced quality planning tools including FMEA and control plans to meet TS16949 requirements. Experience with manufacturing processes such as SMT, thick film processing, MEMS, wire-bonding, dispensing, laser welding, soldering, electrical testing, etc. is desired but not mandatory. Experience with high volume, high quality manufacturing is preferred vs. batch process or very low volume manufacturing environments. Experience with automotive OEM’s and/or Tier 1 suppliers is also a plus. Willingness to travel internationally to assist the global team and work with our suppliers as needed is a must.
