Process/Manufacturing Engineer

 Innovative Mold Solutions www.innovativemold.com located in Leominster, MA is a technology leader in contract manufacturing for a variety of customers spanning military/defense, bio-pharm and medical industries.  Our ability to identify process improvements and productivity optimization for our customers is based on the experience of our professional and qualified staff and the application of solid engineering principles.

 

We are seeking a qualified Process/Manufacturing Engineer who is responsible for process development of all injection mold operations - including optimizing production efficiency and cost effectiveness.  The ideal candidate will be a team player with excellent communication skills.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Complete qualification of new and existing tooling.
  • Maintain PM program for all tooling.
  • Utilize DOE's to optimize performance of molding processes.
  • Design engineering solutions and processes for proposed products that are unique or exceed commonly accepted manufacturing capabilities.
  • Design processing conditions for injection molding machines.
  • Create and update all MP's (manufacturing procedures) documentation.
  • Research and recommend new manufacturing machinery, machines, and equipment.
  • Train production staff on new processes and equipment.
  • Establish metrics for process performance and improve those that are not capable.
  • Create and achieve aggressive timelines for assigned projects.
  • Develop daily, weekly and monthly planning goals for project related task.
  • Flexible to changing priorities and workload.
  • Automation.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years as a Process Engineer in an injection mold environment with a diverse product line; experience in a fast paced small manufacturing environment a plus.
  • Eperience in processing engineering plastics a must.
  • 6 Sigma Black Belt/ Green Belt desirable.
  • Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing process development cycle.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, Word and Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in cooperative, collaborative work environment.
  • BS in Engineering, Engineering Technology (mechanical, manufacturing or plastics) preferred.

 

Position reports to VP, Manufacturing Engineering.
