Financial Services Practice - Retail
Banking - Integrated Banking Solutions
The Banking consulting practice provides services to major banks around the globe and works in virtually all banking areas and competencies.
- Retail Banking: Consumer deposits accounts, loans (e.g., auto, home equity), individual retirement accounts (IRAs)
- Mortgage: Consumer Loans secured by real estate (e.g., personal residence). This includes the underwriting, approval, servicing and collections.
- Payments: Payments initiation, processing and settlement. Includes credit cards
- Wholesale Banking: Cash management services (e.g., lockbox, fund management), merchant services, business banking services (deposits and loans), institutional trust and securities custody services to commercial and corporate institutions.
Process Architect Managers (PAMs) will be responsible for maintaining client relationships and leading consultant and client project teams from project planning through execution, while specifically
managing the day to day design and implementation of business process management solutions. PAMs possess full implementation lifecycle experience of business process, data and technical integration and will have experience in designing, modeling, simulating, monitoring, managing, and optimizing defined business processes.
While they are aware of the dynamics of technology implementations, the PAMs specialty is a deep subject matter expertise in the definition and normalization of business process needs at an enterprise and/or functional area level. As the PAMs must be credible to industry experts, PAMs must demonstrate a commitment to functional excellence by pursuing relevant certification and accreditation programs in their industry segment.
Essential Functions:
- A Banking Manager at Deloitte will manage and deliver components of client engagements that identify, design, and implement technology and creative business solutions for large banking institutions. Responsibilities include
, among others, managing teams in the identification of business requirements, functional design, process design (including scenario design, flow mapping), prototyping, testing, training, defining support procedures.
Banking Process Modeling Managers are required to have:
- 6+ years of banking experience and/or consulting experience.
- 2+ years of experience in managing large Business Integration efforts and project teams, in the banking industry, through all phases of the project lifecycle from scoping and planning, requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and go live with a specific expertise in business process definition and solution development. This effort can be within a management consulting environment or industry
- Experience with managing one or more technical business process implementations using BPEL, XML, jPDL, J2EE and one or more of the following BPM tools: Fuego, Filenet, PegaSystems, Savvion, Lombardi, HandySoft, MetaStorm, Ultimus,Websphere
Process Server, Websphere Application Server, Websphere MQ, SeeBeyond, TIBCO, Vitria, WebMethods, IBM BEA Weblogic, and Crossworlds
- Experience in one or more requirements definition and elicitation techniques including use case modeling, joint application development (JAD), feature oriented domain analysis (FODA), accelerated requirements method (ARM)
- Integrated banking solutions experience in one or more of the following areas: Fidelity banking software, Hogan Systems, Fiserv software, Jack Henry Banking, Argo, S1 Personal Banking, TouchPoint, ViewPoint.
- Experience in one or more prototyping techniques including rapid and evolutionary prototyping.
- At least 3 years of experience in documenting standard operating procedures, participating in process reviews and awareness of quality functions.
- Willingness to travel to client locations (80%).
- Bachelor's Degree or 4 years equivalent professional experience.
In addition, successful Managers will
also have the following preferred skills:
- Awareness of Six Sigma, other process improvement techniques and change management procedures is desired.
- Possess strong understanding of software development methodologies (RUP, Agile or other SDLC).
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Visio, MS PowerPoint).
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment.
- Eagerness to mentor junior staff.
- An advanced degree in the area of specialization is preferred.
