A vital component in the secondary mortgage market, Freddie Mac has made home ownership and rental housing more accessible and affordable for over 50 million families across America. The position of Processing Manager – Mortgage Insurance Claims, created due to business growth, is responsible for providing leadership, planning and direction to a group of financial accountants ad analysts and efficiently managing all activities of this decentralized accounting team. Minimal travel will be necessary. Primary functions include, but are not limited to: · Making staff hiring and retention recommendations; coaching, motivating and training personnel · Ensuring that accounting transactions are completed in an accurate and timely manner, and that the results are reported and analyzed as expected · Providing accounting guidance on new and unusual transactions and products to business areas and seeing to it that proper controls are maintained within those specific areas All qualified candidates must have: · Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a relevant discipline (or work/education equivalent) · Minimum 5 years’ accounting experience · At least 3 years in a supervisory position · Thorough understanding of Mortgage Insurance Claims processing (default servicing would be a plus) · Excellent team leadership, organizational and verbal/written communication skills Freddie Mac will consider applicants who require H-1B sponsorship, but only if the applicant has at least three years of H status remaining out of the original six years of permissible H status.
