STIHL Inc. has an immediate opening for a Procurement Planner! As part of our Purchasing department you will play a vital role in the procurement of goods to support our manufacturing operations. You have the opportunity to work among our 1800 employees located in Virginia Beach, VA analyzing and scheduling production needs. STIHL produces various finished products including chain saws, blowers, and trimmers, which are sold throughout the world at independently owned dealerships. Are you interested in learning more?
Position Responsibilities:
· Analyze material planning requirements for specific production areas, and maintain appropriate levels of materials and supplies in stock.
· Analyze and order, reschedule, or cancel raw materials from suppliers, based on material requirements in SAP with use of Material Requirement Planning (MRP).
· Maintain an adequate supply of materials to keep all production areas working, to meet spare parts requirements, and keep obsolete and excess material inventory levels at a minimum.
· Maintain appropriate inventory levels consistent with the cost analysis.
· Advise Inventory Auditors of any inventory discrepancies.
· Select the appropriate mode of transportation to meet production and spare parts requirements, while keeping premium transportation costs to a minimum.
· Initiate supplier bill-backs where supplier is the cause of shipping by premium transportation
· Maintain the lead times section of the MRP, contacting suppliers regarding material problems, within his/her planning codes, such as delayed receipt, poor quality, wrong items, etc. and resolving issues as required.
Required:
· 4 year college degree in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· 2 to 4 years of related experience.
· Experience with a MRP system.
