Purchasing Agent
Growing construction equipment/materials company is seeking Procurement Specialist to manage purchasing contracts and develop new business. Procurement includes items such as HVAC, mechanical devices, plumbing fixtures, concrete, pipes and material hoists.
Responsibilities:
- Locate vendors of construction equipment, materials or supplies; determine product availability; conduct price negotiations and terms of sale
- Prepare and process purchase orders
- Follow up on delivery to job site and monitor progress for duration of the project
- Maintain purchasing records and prepare appropriate reports
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and vendors
- Provide customer service to clients to ensure accurate and timely deliveries per contract requirements
- Develop new business leads
Qualifications:
- 3+ years experience in the procurement of construction equipment, materials and supplies
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Ability to work well within an electronic environment and utilize software systems to organize work and track results
- Proficiency with MS Word, Outlook, Excel required
- Experience with ACT database program and QuickBooks desirable
- Ability to multi-task in a deadline-driven environment
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Strong negotiation skills
