Growing construction equipment/materials company is seeking Procurement Specialist to manage purchasing contracts and develop new business.  Procurement includes items such as HVAC, mechanical devices, plumbing fixtures, concrete, pipes and material hoists.


 


 


Responsibilities:


 



  • Locate vendors of construction equipment, materials or supplies; determine product availability; conduct price negotiations and terms of sale
  • Prepare and process purchase orders
  • Follow up on delivery to job site and monitor progress for duration of the project
  • Maintain purchasing records and prepare appropriate reports
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and vendors
  • Provide customer service to clients to ensure accurate and timely deliveries per contract requirements
  • Develop new business leads

 


 


Qualifications:


 



  • 3+ years experience in the procurement of construction equipment, materials and supplies
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Ability to work well within an electronic environment and utilize software systems to organize work and track results
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Outlook, Excel required
  • Experience with ACT database program and QuickBooks desirable
  • Ability to multi-task in a deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
