POSITION SUMMARY:

Global strategic procurement and sourcing for manufacturers and products in the neutraceutical, nutrition, genetic and home & garden industry.   Identify strategic cost savings opportunities and negotiating pricing.  Also, assists in contract implementation, supplier and vendor reviews for assigned contracts, execute sourcing strategy, project management and partner with the business teams as required. Reports to the Director of Product Management & Web Merchandising.

Job Description

  • Secure suppliers for a variety of neutraceutical, nutrition, genetic and home & garden products or services and obtain price, delivery, quantity, quality and terms.
  • Obtain a thorough understanding of in-house business functions within Market America in order to identify, develop, and implement improved sourcing strategy
  • Identify metrics, tools, and processes to optimize sourcing and supplier innovation and efficiencies.
  • Develops alternate sources of supply by identifying and researching prospective suppliers.  
  • Demonstrate comprehensive industry knowledge of best practices, processes, and technology trends to proactively adjust strategy by working closely with functional and business partners.
  • Identify, develop, and manage business relationships, internally and externally, to ensure the sourcing strategies align to meet business requirements.
  • Provide project management discipline to ensure key procurement strategy milestones are achieved.
    Monitors and evaluates supplier performance.
  • Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing procurement process analysis.  
  • Applies continuous improvement techniques and methods to internal processes and systems to increase efficiency and customer service and to reduce costs.
  • Stays on top of Industry Trends by studying, researching, and attending various trade shows

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor`s degree in Business Management, Supply Chain, Finance or related field required.
  • 1-2 years related experience in sourcing, procurement, finance or consulting.
  • Proven ability to manage procurement-related projects including the ability to analyze category spend as well as pricing and market trends.
  • Good teamwork skills to work with other company departments to plan and execute on sourcing strategies
  • Strong facilitation skills to collaborate with stakeholders across company to implement sourcing strategies
  • Ability to multi-task, manage multiple projects and deadlines with different customers
  • Ability to demonstrate strong business analysis and communication skills
  • Strong ability to provide objective opinion in team setting to assist in bringing consensus on difficult issues involving groups with competing goals
