Product Development Engineer EE w/ Smart-Grid - Hubbell Power Systems


Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) is a leader in the manufacture and distribution of a wide variety of transmission, distribution, substation, OEM and telecommunications products used by utilities. Currently HPS has an opening in their Leeds, AL facility, located


 minutes outside of Birmingham, for a Product Development Engineer


 EE w/ Smart-Grid.


 


The Product Development Engineer will prototype and design for manufacturability, coordinate UL/CSA/IEEE product testing, troubleshoot, provide failure analysis and product enhancement. Aside from standard duties, must be willing to help with other tasks and assist other team members as needed.


 


Requirements: BSEE. Must possess a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the Utility/Power distribution industry; substation, transmission and distribution Smart Grid, microprocessor, sensor and communications technology experience included. Project Management experience required.  Experience in utility automation software (Zigbee, Scada, etc.) and interruption science, as well as switch design are desirable.


 


 


 


Ability to relocate in future for promotion is preferred. 


 


 


Travel: Up to 25%.
