Role Summary/Purpose
The Product Database Architect is a senior SQL DB architect position responsible for designing, developing, implementing and maintaining databases and providing database administration support for Key Control applications. Experienced Application DBA responsible for defining strategic direction for SQL Server Databases in Production environments.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Performance monitoring / tuning, production database troubleshooting, backup / recovery, and supporting security administration for database access, application code migration, storage management, 3rd party product support
  • Provide user support in problem resolution, application/database testing, change control, and database integration into the production environment
  • Provide database administration support for customer's business applications and users
  • Translate business and technical requirements into physical database designs.
  • Provide design recommendations on database related solutions
  • Develop scripts to support DBA functions for SQL databases
  • Participate in production on call rotation
  • Ensure that database changes are managed according to the best practices and comply with SOX requirements

    Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree specializing in computer science, management information systems, or another analytical or computer discipline OR high school diploma/GED and a minimum 5 years industry experience
  • Minimum 5 years of production DBA experience in MS SQL Server / Windows environment, various data management systems, physical database design, testing, implementation, maintenance and administrationELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
  • Written and verbal communication skills in English

    Desired Characteristics
  • Advanced knowledge of database technical concepts, such as: physical data modeling, performance tuning, backup/recovery, SQL Server Security
  • Proficiency in Windows environments, including scripting is required.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work with cross functional teams
  • Data driven and open mindset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Strong understanding of logical/physical modeling, database design principles, database administration methodologies and techniques, system development lifecycle, disaster recovery and system integration knowledge
  • Understanding of the business processes to ensure that database architectures and data flows are meeting business needs
  • Current knowledge of the technology industry, including the leading tools and best practices
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in data modeling and data architecture
  • Experience supporting large databases with high volume real time transactions
  • Strong TSQL skills
  • Strong analytical ability with emphasis on recognizing automation opportunities as well as detecting and resolving systematic problems
