What You'll Do At John Deere Ag and Turf, a Utility Vehicle Product Design Engineer designs mechanical systems for John Deere Gator Utility Vehicles. In addition you will: - Design utility vehicle mechanical components and systems (e.g. suspension, steering, structures, powertrain, etc.) within cost, reliability, and performance metrics.
- Provide technical support to marketing, manufacturing, quality, and supply management organizations.
- Develop and/or execute test or analysis plans for product verification and validation.
- Analyze failure modes and provide solutions for ongoing product improvement.
What It Takes
We need someone with excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and 3 or more years of product engineering mechanical design experience. Ideally you will have a BS degree in Engineering or in a related technical field. In addition we require: - Pro/ENGINEER design experience.
- Experience in bringing a design into production.
A strong candidate will also have 2 or more years of design experience in powersports markets (e.g. utility vehicles, ATVs, motorcycles, etc.), experience in the use of electronic analysis and simulation tools (e.g. ANSYS Workbench, ADAMS), a strong mechanical aptitude in vehicle structures and power train or alternative power systems, and experience with PDM Link and SAP including bill of material management and costing.
