Description

 A highly respected and industry leading manufacturing company is looking to add a Product Design Specialist to their team.  This company is a division of a billion dollar international manufacturing company.  A highly motivated and experienced individual will be the ideal candidate.

Duties:
**Responsible for product design/application and working closely with the engineering group and customers

**Design of molded and diecast parts and stampings

**Understanding of mechanisms along with design solutions

**Advise management/engineering team of industry trends and competitor activities

**Project lead for all assigned design projects as they relate to customer/engineering interaction, design and testing activities

**Work with engineering department on product development, market opportunities and trends

**Close work with engineers on functional design and conformity to all specs

**Ensured conformance to all required drafting/CAD/modeling specs and guidelines

Requirements

• Bachelors degree (4 yr) in Mechanical Design or equivalent education

• 3 to 5 years in related product design

• 3 to 5 years experience with 3D computer design (CAD) for the auto industry

• 3 to 5 years experience with CATIA V5  *(must have)*
• 3 to 5 years experience with design of exterior automotive mechanisms and parts *(must have)*
• Basic understanding and previous experience with manufacturing techniques, materials and manufacturing methods in an industrial setting
