We are looking for a product engineer who has the right technical and business background to join Avtec’s Network Infrastructure product team in developing innovative solutions to meet our customer requirements. The ideal candidate is well-rounded and understands the product development lifecycle and is capable of preparing proposals, managing the product roadmap, developing forecasts, writing the product specification, developing MARCOM materials, working with the product development team, and interfacing with applications engineers and the technical support teams.

Our Networking Infrastructure product team is a strategic technology group that incubates new business ideas and delivers engineering solutions critical to the success of our global partners. We are creative thinkers who thrive in our fast-paced, market-driven environment. We are looking for self-motivated individuals to develop Avtec's position in the telecommunications industry.

Job Description:

• Be knowledgeable in networking and data communications

• Provide pre-sales product and systems support including trials, demonstrations, and technical proposals

•Monitor market trends

• Maintain the product roadmap

•Interface with the in-house Engineering staff on design, production, and testing issues

• Develop training programs around the networking products

• Coordinate product deliveries with the manufacturing team

• Provide guidance to technical support with product troubleshooting networking products

• Support onsite customer product evaluations and trials. Must have the ability to travel to customer sites


Candidates must have:

• BS in Electrical, Software, or Computer Engineering or related technical degree, MS a plus

• 0-4 years of professional experience

• Experience with Business Development, Technical Sales, Product and Project Management a plus

• Data Communications knowledge required; Satellite Communications knowledge a plus

• Understanding of networks and protocols

• Excellent technical writing and oral communication skills

• Working knowledge of hardware and software processes

• High energy, self-motivated, detail-oriented, analytical

• Due to contractual requirements, must be a US Citizen
