PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

·            Drafting and design for mechanical and sheet metal type products related to transit interiors

·            Develop product concepts from customer requirements, product ideas, and marketing inputs.

·            Create design concepts, engineering mock-ups, prototype feasibility, and validation plans.

·            Participate in the cross-functional team to complete new programs/products.

·            Responsible for tasks completed on time and within budget.

·            Prepare manufacturing and assembly specifications.

·            Review and critique proposed changes to engineering standards, policies, or details.

·            Support / Preparation of the DVP&R, DFMEA and PFMEA for projects as required

·            Other duties as assigned.

 KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

·             Proficient in AutoCAD, min 2 years experience, Inventor a plus

·             Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, specifically Ecel 2007

·            Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering preffered.

·             Experience in the automotive and/or aerospace industry is a plus.

·             Product design experience with automotive/commercial lighting is a plus.

·             Ability to communicate effectively.

·             Work requires travel to meetings, site visits, and inspections.  This requires the possession of a valid state driver’s license and valid passport.

·             Requires willingness to work a flexible schedule. Activities may require evening and weekend work.

·             Must have initiative, work well independently, and possess a strong desire to learn and succeed.
