Job Description: Packaging Experience in the design, testing and implementation of packaging. Experience with ASTM and ISO packaging standards for corrugated and wood designs. General Skill Sets Req'd (continued) Experience with design & manufacturing tools & principles involved in the production of precision devices, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of high quality goods such as “Lean” and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly. Interface experience with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality and Regularity functions. Professional Engineer License desired but not required. Completion of Fundamentals of Engineering Exam desired but not required Can work independently in a fast paced new product development environment. Experienced with running supplier design reviews to establish best design and fabrication process. Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to discuss or explain design features or issues with all level engineers, designers and drafters. Ability to identify issues dealing with conflicting designs, unsuitability of conventional materials. Highly self-motivated, self-directed, team orientated, and exceptionally attentive to detail. Takes responsibility for the technical issues that affect the team and is involved in the identification &/or development of breakaway technologies. Proficient current industry software and Microsoft Office.
Experience with ISTA packaging testing protocols. Experience working with external packaging suppliers to create designs that will comply with all international standards. General Skill Sets Req'd BSME with 10+ years related experience or MSME with 7+ years related experience. Able to read and interpret GD&T ASME Y14.5M-1994 dimensioning and tolerancing. Demonstrated knowledge of the limitations of all forms of current fabrication processes. Able to determine acceptable tolerance levels for each fabrication process. Demonstrated experience in design and manufacturing in a new product development environment. Demonstrated experience developing, evaluating and improving manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards. Project management experience (min 5 yrs) with PMP Certification preferred (Project Management Institute or equivalent). Experience (3 – 5 yrs) working in a regulated (ISO, FDA) manufacturing environment with a preference for new product introduction. Experience establishing supply chain strategies and their implementation. Experience in the project management and implementation of test equipment both internally and externally.
