Currently, we are looking for a Sr. Product Manager for a direct hire position in the Rockville, MD area.
Sr. Product Manager
We’re looking for an experienced candidate who will be fully accountable and responsible for development of new product concepts, enhancement of existing products, management of overall product programs and development of product migration strategies. This position will report directly to the Director of Product Management. Candidates should have 6 – 9 years’ related professional experience which includes a thorough knowledge of product development, marketing principles and product management in a computer/Internet production or marketing-related field.
Candidates who are knowledgeable of on-line information delivery concepts and current web related structures would be particularly well-suited, as would those with a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop and drive product(s) roadmap and migration for assigned products from concept to implementation.
· Gather and prioritize product and market requirements for current and future products.
· Conduct market research and focus groups. Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources.
· Identify key vendors and competitive offerings in the market and assess strengths and weaknesses.
· Analyze potential partner relationships for product(s).
· Identify and assess new market opportunities and target customers.
· Present product concept demonstrations to customer advisory groups and shareholding associations.
· Develop and communicate business case incorporating cost/benefit analysis.
· Work with Marketing Department to identify and develop product positioning and go-to-market strategy and champion product deployment and adoption.
· Proactively communicate and collaborate with external customers and internal staff to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver comprehensive and complete product specifications and requirements adhering to company standards.
· Identify key product implementation risks and work to mitigate them.
· Collaborate with Project Managers to discuss and test their assumptions on how project plans and requirements will be successfully executed.
· Provide training and support assistance to Sales, Marketing and Customer Support Departments as required.
· Provide guidance and leadership to Associate Product Management and Product Teams.
· Assist Business Development as required to assess market and product opportunities.
