One of the driving forces behind AT&T Interactive (YellowPages.com) is the product management team that owns and drives our innovative local search products. The search product management team works closely with our search, data, web and mobile teams to help design and develop leading local search products and technologies. We're looking for talented, ambitious, self-directed technical product managers to guide our products and features from conception to launch. As a search product manager, your responsibilities will include gathering requirements, helping to define a product vision and strategy, and working with smart engineers to execute it. We currently have several opportunities for technical Search Product Managers in our Glendale office. Areas of focus include:



Search Algorithms

• Drive the definition, design and implementation of our next generation of search relevance algorithms. This role is highly technical. Candidate must have a solid understanding of search engines, information retrieval, machine learning, natural language processing, data mining, web crawling, Solr, Lucene, Hadoop and data-intensive programming.

• Innovate creative solutions to deliver the best results to the user in the absence of perfect and complete data.



Search Functionality

• Work with our web and mobile product teams to create a coherent vision for local search and drive the roadmap through the organization.

• Define, design and drive the implementation of new search and map functionality across our web and mobile products.

• Optimize the search consumer funnel by analyzing metrics, user feedback and A/B tests.

• Analyze market trends and lead initiatives to capitalize on disruptive market opportunities and differentiate our search experience.



Search & Data Quality

• Identify relevance and data gaps by analyzing user feedback, relevance tests and search logs.

• Drive search improvement by prioritizing bugs, features and enhancements.

• Define requirements for search engineering and data quality teams.

• Proactively communicate with users and serve as the voice of the consumer.

• Help evangelize our local search engine.



Search Data & Partner Integration

• Work with our data, search and product teams to drive the data infrastructure roadmap.

• Improve the flexibility and extensibility of our database systems to support structured, semi-structured and user generated content.

• Define data requirements for new product features that require database changes.

• Define data requirements and improve process for vertical partner integrations (Hotels, Autos, Movies, etc) through enterprise integration and automation solutions.

• Proactively develop data products and solutions to enable search and consumer products to capture market opportunities.



Search Services & API

• Drive the roadmap and implementation of shared services (search, spell check, taxonomy, etc.)

• Define requirements and specifications for the search and data abstraction APIs to support web, mobile and publisher products.

• Proactively steer the organization towards a common set of shared services.

• Launch and evangelize a public local search API, and foster a vibrant developer community.





QUALIFICATIONS

• BA/BS in a technical field or strong technical background. MBA, MS or equivalent experience is a plus.

• Proven track record of managing innovative products from concept to launch. Experience at major search engines or start-ups is a plus.

• Demonstrated capacity for defining high-level strategy as well as detailed feature requirements.

• Outstanding analytical and creative problem-solving skills.

• Strong interpersonal communication, presentation and meeting leader skills.

• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.

• Passion for solving real-world problems with new technologies.
