The iContact product is the leading email marketing platform used by over 50,000 companies worldwide ranging from small businesses to blue chip clients.
iContact was named one of the Best Places to Work in the Triangle by the Triangle Business Journal in 2007, 2008, and 2009. This position will be based in the Durham/Research Triangle Park area of North Carolina.
The company is seeking a Product Manager who will work as part of the Product Management department. This individual will offer product management leadership to all aspects of the iContact service delivery infrastructure. The Product Manager will report to the Director of Product Management.
Responsibilities
• Act as the product owner, offering a central focus for information and direction concerning the vision and strategy of components of the iContact product suite
• Provide domain expertise on email authentication, CAN-SPAM compliance, reputation programs, best practices for usability and issues of non-delivery or bulk folder delivery
• Define product investment opportunities by interacting with customers, Deliverability, Sales, Marketing, Technology and through market and competitive research
• Develop business cases for appropriate investment levels based on market demand, customer pain and iContact’s strategic goals
• Own the product roadmap and prioritized product backlog for your area of focus
• Ensure that ideas submitted represent appropriate stakeholders and facilitate communication with them on progress of a given initiative
• Partner with cross-functional teams leveraging SCRUM to design and build products that customers will love
• Create core content and messaging to enable the training of internal audiences, build preference among prospects and generate envy among competitors
• Identify, work to integrate and support key third-party software providers to extend the reach and value of the iContact service
• Define, track, and improve key product metrics
• Manage go to market strategy for product improvements working with Sales, Marketing, Support and other areas to ensure all details of roll out are managed.
Requirements
• Has 3-5 years of product management experience, preferably working problems within the email marketing domain
• Knowledge of the market and competitive landscape for email marketing, Deliverability and ISP email practices
• High degree of both technical expertise and business acumen, including familiarity developing high-scale service delivery infrastructures and implications of SaaS business models
• Experience working with development teams that use Scrum or other agile development methodologies
• Ability to synthesize complex information and concepts to keep a team focused on end goals.
• Strong results-orientation combined with excellent judgment and problem solving skills; track record of product success
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills; is comfortable presenting to executive staff
• Has experience working in short, iterative development cycles to deliver incremental working software to the market
• Expertise communicating progress at each phase of development as appropriate, including published roadmaps, user stories, sprint review presentations, burndown charts
• Bachelors degree or higher; MBA preferred.
