Product Marketing Manager – Machine Solutions
Omron Electronics LLC is looking for an energetic and focused Product Marketing Manager in Schaumburg, IL for its Machine Solutions Group. The Product Marketing Manager is responsible for developing, leading, coordinating, and ensuring implementation of the product strategy for the Machine Solutions Group and their related products (Motion, Servos, Drives, Motors, PLC, HMI) that leads to rapid market share gain and sales growth.
Responsibilities:
• Coordination, prioritization, and oversight of the Machine Solution’s Group (within Product Marketing) activities to develop and execute the marketing plans for the target markets. These plans include:
o Development of appropriate marketing collateral: Product catalog, product brochures, product usage applications, product launch announcements and initiatives, web site content by product category, e-newsletters, product demonstration kits and programs, and industry white papers.
o Development of “How to Sell” information and training for use with/by the sales force.
o Development of product based promotional activities and programs
o National (America’s) and global product pricing and pricing strategy
o Product gap identification and analysis
o Product position analysis
o Competitor and competitive products analysis and reporting
o Development and maintenance of brand labeling plans and partnerships
o Management of professional marketing staff
• Planning
o Annual sales plan by product segment in alignment with sales plan
o Industry analysis by product segment potential and annual growth. Understanding addressable market by product segment and product application.
o Product launch plans.
o Setting annual achievement objectives by product line (KPIs)
o Day to day management of the Machine Solutions Group’s annual budget.
o Setting annual achievement objectives by individual (MBOs)
• Reporting Product Marketing Group’s key performance indicators
o Achievement of product group sales revenue and profit goals
o Achievement of product sales by target market segment
o Monthly MBO and KPI reporting
• Communication and interfacing with Omron Corporate in Japan
o Communication of strategic plans containing key product initiatives to support growth through the target vertical markets
o Attending joint global product planning meetings
o Communications and interfacing with corporate planners
• Management, coaching, and development of a team of Product Management professionals.
o Provide consistent feedback to team members on development needs.
o Provide assistance to team members to obtain improvement in development areas.
o Provide appropriate reward and recognition for team member accomplishments and strengths.
o Organize work split across team members to maximize group output.
• Represent Omron in a professional, ethical, and socially responsible manner.
• Represents the Omron Guiding Principles through personal and business interactions with employees, customers, distributors, and colleagues.
Requirements:
• Four (4) year Degree in Engineering or Marketing. MBA Preferred.
• At least seven (7) years in a strategic or product marketing role specific to industrial automation products.
• Knowledge of industrial automation products and applications.
• Sales or marketing experience with some or all of the following products:
? Industrial PLCs
? Motion Control, Servos, and Inverters
? HMI, Networking and Industrial Software
• Proven history of consistent market share growth.
• Energetic, aggressive and focused.
• Highly motivated self starter that delivers results on time and with high quality.
• Good organization skills.
• Strong interpersonal, listening, questioning and communication skills (written and oral).
• Entrepreneurial, and behaves as an owner of the company.
• Able to conduct market analysis to determine business opportunities and market penetration.
• Able to coach the communication of product strategies, marketing plans and how to sell information in a manner that motivates the sales force and distributors to support the strategy.
• Able to multi-task and collaborate cross-functionally with other team members.
• Ability to travel overnight up to 20%.
