Pearson is the leader in publishing for the higher education market. We have an excellent management-level opportunity for a Product Specialist to drive sales in our Western region. Ideal candidates for this position will be based out of the San Francisco, CA/Bay area, but we will also consider candidates who are located in Denver, CO, Phoenix, AZ, Salt Lake City, UT or Seattle, WA.

The successful candidate for the Product Specialist position will be responsible for the sales and marketing of textbooks, supplements and media to colleges and universities in English departments, working with roughly 25 local representatives in 9 Western states. This is a product specialist position that focuses on the winning of large adoptions through giving presentations, coaching and strategizing with sales representatives, and building momentum and excitement for the products in the region. In addition, our Product Specialists also communicate closely with our marketing and editorial teams to create strategies, drive sales, and provide market feedback.

-A minimum of two years successful experience as a college publishing sales representative, and a quantifiable record of achievement
-Ability to travel approximately 60% of the time during the selling seasons
-Technological proficiency: working knowledge of the Web and basic software
programs/applications
-Excellent written and oral communication
-Motivation: the drive to achieve beyond what is expected
-Academic excellence: strong academic performance and a 4-year degree
