SunGard Availability Services is an operating group of SunGard Data Systems.

Responsibilities:         



The Senior Product Testing / QA Engineer will perform the quality assurance activities within the CTO product development group.  This encompasses the development of a test plans based on a use cases, the execution of the test plans and the creation / adoption of processes / procedures to enhance the product quality.

 

The Senior Product Testing / QA Engineer will also work closely with the Quality Director and the Head of Product Management to product performance with the needs of the marketplace.  He or she will develop and enforce a governance strategy which establishes and / or incorporates pragmatic standards and policies, allowing for a controlled evolution of technological capabilities that addresses market needs, while minimizing operational risk.

                                   

Specific and additional responsibilities include:

 

*         Review use cases and create a test plan to address completeness and reliability of system features / functions

*         Coordinate test planning, manual testing and automated testing, according to project deliverables.

*         Develop, maintain, and execute tests.  Maintain complete, detailed test results data.

*         Generate and publish test reports indicating test scripts passed, failed, not run. Additionally it must include # defects created as a result of the testing and other relevant metrics associated with quality compliance.

*         Develop and execute automated test scripts for future regression testing.

*         Design, develop, and execute performance test scenarios as required using LoadRunner.

*         Open defect records for all defects resulting from testing, ensuring all high and urgent priority defects are resolved prior to releasing project to next phase / project implementation.

*         Support the software engineering team by performing a basic level of root cause analysis on any performance bottlenecks identified in the course of testing.

*         Continually build knowledge and proficiency in testing methodologies.

*         Keep abreast of changes in technology regarding product testing tools

*         Bring Quality Processes and procedures to the product lifecycle.

Professional Experience and Qualities:        



The successful candidate should have approximately 5 to 7 years of experience in an IT quality assurance / testing related career demonstrating continued professional growth; the most recent five years should involve hands on experience in testing and quality assurance.  Ideally this experience will have been with large, complex financial, technology, and/or professional services firms. The candidate should have experience interacting with engineers and product managers.

 

Candidates for the position should have the following professional experience and qualities:

 

*         Excellent communications skills, with a proven track record of delivering high quality results;

*         A strong passion and proclivity for technology, a heavy focus on IT services, and project management;

*         A proven ability to align project efforts to customers and clients both within and outside the technology organization;

*         Creative thinking which can drive new and innovative additions to Availability Services' offerings;

*         High motivation, self-sufficiency, and the ability to operate effectively without close supervision;

*         Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously with competing priorities;

*         Excellent leadership, influencing, and negotiation skills as well as background in facilitation, team building, and meeting mechanisms;

*         Pragmatism and creativity in solving problems, specifically identifying and meeting real needs (not just those stated);

*         Proven ability to drive change in an operating environment.

 

Technical skills:

 

*         Experience with multiple technology platforms, operating systems, networking protocols and toolsets;

*         Full lifecycle experience, with familiarity of Scrum process or similar SDLC process and tools;

*         Thorough understanding of industry standards (e.g., CobiT, ITIL, Iso17799);

*         Outsourcing / off-shoring exposure;

*         Excellent understanding of global infrastructure workings (networking, security, application performance, deployment).



Educational Background:               



An advanced degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is required.
