Production Engineer I
SUMMARY
This position is designed to support and enhance the Teleplan Test and Repair Operations whose primary responsibility entails the screening, testing, and repairing of network related products including but not limited to routers, switches, hubs, data storage devices, displays, and circuit boards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Assist in the development of procedures, work instructions, and other documentation as required to support Engineering, Production, and any other department where Engineering is responsible for the process.
May assist in analyzing and designing test and screening methods and processes necessary to meet Production requirements and that also improve capacity and quality.
Implement ECO’s, ECN’s, or any other change documentation as defined by the customer or Teleplan that is required to sustain and support the Engineering and Production process.
Support the introduction of new products into the test and repair environment by performing New Product Introduction (NPI) tasks as assigned.
Assist in the selection, installation, and support of Production line equipment and materials. This includes but is not limited to work benches, lighting, chairs, tools, solder/de-soldering equipment, microscopes, cleaning supplies, etc.
Assist in the development and support of preventative maintenance policies and procedures. Perform preventative maintenance tasks as assigned.
Assist in the analysis and management of utilities required to support Production and Engineering.
Assist in the planning, support, and implementation of factory floor layouts.
Run various reports to track capacity, efficiency, productivity, and utilization of direct labor and equipment.
Assist in the coordination of Engineering activities and resolve Engineering issues as required.
Participate in classes, certifications, seminars, and any other training (mandated or supplementary) as assigned.
Participate in all required meetings including customer conference calls.
Perform preventative maintenance tasks as required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering (B.S.E.E.) or Electronics & Communication Engineering (A./B.S.E.C.E.) from two or four-year college or university; and up to three years manufacturing or production engineering experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in an engineering position that meets the duties and responsibilities.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Cisco Networking, UNIX, Linux, Project Management, Programming Languages such as C + scripting, and HTLM or Web Development desirable.
