SUMMARY: The Production Engineer will be responsible for new process implementation and current production process improvement/optimization. The incumbent will also be hands-on technical support for operations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages projects and teams in coordination with multi-functional teams and management, including:
- Upgrading and optimizing current equipment and processes including preventative maintenance
- Identifying and analyzing of flows, layout, and workplaces
- Troubleshooting (root cause analysis) and solving equipment and process issues
- Manages project budgets and timelines
- Ability to motivate and manage people that do not directly report to this position
- Ability to coordinate own and others’ actions, manage own time and manage personnel resources
- Works closely with and manages Production Supervisors and Technical Team members
- Performs other related duties, as required and/or requested by supervisor

Job Requirements:
REQUIREMENTS:
- B.S. in Industrial Engineering preferred or Mechanical Engineering and minimum of eight years directly related experience OR a combination of directly related experience and/or education. M.S. degree in Engineering would be preferred but is not required
- Background in mass production at least in one of the following: packaging, assembly, injection molding, mass production, automation, printing, and/or form fill seal
- High level of experience in project management and a strong technical knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
- Must be innovative, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively resolve conflicts
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- High skill level in computer proficiency with Windows-based programs (Word, Excel, Access, etc.)
- Ability to provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives
- Experienced in establishing and maintaining customer relationships
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships internally and externally
- Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and balance priorities
- Must be willing to take “hands on” approach to work and be “on the floor”
- Needs to have worked in manufacturing, preferably with some experience in high volume production
- Background with manufacturing methods, process improvement programs and procedures
- Ability to demonstrate where s/he has optimized manufacturing processes in previous employment
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem solving skills
- Needs to understand and have worked with PLC’s, Drive, and/or other automation equipment
