Balchem Corporation, #64 on Forbes 200 Best Small Companies List, is currently seeking a Production Engineer to join our Operations team in the Slate Hill facility of our publicly-held company.

In this newly added position, you will be the principle project and manufacturing engineer for the Slate Hill plant. 

Some of the key responsibilities will include the following:

·         Partner with the Slate Hill Plant Manager to perform project and continuous improvement work to increase capacity and drive overall operational efficiencies

·         Occasional travel (<10%) to any of our 7 other manufacturing sites to provide project/engineering support

·         Maintain capacity models

·         Perform time studies, value stream mapping and ergonomic assessments

·         Ensure proper use of PPE and safety adherence for all who enter the site

·         Maintain positive relations with the community and regulatory agencies

·         Act as a back-up to Plant Manager during absences

The ideal candidate will meet the following qualifications:

·         BS degree in an Engineering discipline (Chemical or Industrial highly desired)

·         Ability to travel to multiple locations to assist in project engineering assignments

·         Practical experience with Lean and/or Six Sigma methodology

·         Minimum of 5 years experience in a chemical or food manufacturing setting

·         Direct supervisory experience preferred

·         Willingness to relocate within the organization, as business needs dictate

·         Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills

·         Proficiency in MS Applications (Word, Excel)
