Production Machine Operator

Production Positions
We offer a competitive hourly wage of $16.87/hour after 90 days, and up to $20.00/hour for Operation positions, as well as excellent benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401 (k) and much more. Applicants must be available to work any shift. Please see "Work Hours" below for more detail.
Essential Duties and Responsiblities
1. Responsible for operation of machines in compliance with Standard Operating Procedure.
2. Must keep accurate operational records as directed.
3. Detect and report faulty operation, defective material and equipment and other unusual conditions to teammates and appropriate personnel.
4. Collaborate with appropriate personnel to transmit and exchange information pertinent to work related activities.
5. Inspects product to ensure compliance with quality standards.
6. Assist with product changes, sheet breaks and threading machine.
7. Works scheduled shifts and overtime as assigned.
8. Performs all work in safe, efficient manner and follows all safety procedures.
9. Maintains work area in neat and orderly condition.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Additionally, a high degree of quality knowledge of each product made is important. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); two to five years experience as a machine operator.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to solve problems involving a few concrete functions of this job.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have the ability to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, to raise and lower objects without mechanical aids, to extend hand and arms in any direction to reach, push or pull objects, to bend at the knees and at the waist, and to talk or hear.
The employee is frequently required to be able to stand for long periods of time, walk, to have the abilitiy to balance when assisting in the thread-up of the machine and to climb industrial ladders and use catwalks and stairs in the work area.
Must have the ability to regularly list and/or move up to 50 lbs., frequently lift and/or move 25 lbs., and occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 lbs. with assistance.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to wear and use required safety equipment, including safety glasses, steel-toe safety shoes, hearing protection, and head protection.
Work Environment
While performing duties of this job, the employee is exposed to fiberglass mat, asphalt, granules, fumes or airborne particles that fall below OSHA PELS. The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to vibration from machines.
The employee occasionally works in high places when assisting with thread-ups and above the floor level on catwalks and/or stairs, and is exposed to seasonally hot and cold weather.
The noise level in the work environment requires hearing protection.
Work Hours
Must be available to work any of the fixed shifts: 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am. We are going to from a 3-shift operation (3 eight-hour shifts; 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, 11pm-7a) to a 4-shift operation (7am-7pm, 7pm-7am, 3 days on/4 days off, 4 days on/3 days off).
Additional Comments
Training investment time is critical with our company. We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate longevity in their work history (a minimum of 2 years) and are looking for full-time, long term employment.
