Job Description


  • Manages and coordinates the operations of departments in relationship to meeting the production needs of the plant.
  • Manages the production activities of the plant with direct relationships with Quality, Human Resources, Sales, Purchasing, Accounting, Engineering and Maintenance to ensure complete continuity of operations while providing a high level of customer service.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for directing the daily operation of the production departments to ensure the manufacture of products on a timely schedule; to ensure service levels while maintaining quality standards, cost controls, line efficiencies, plant sanitation, employee safety and regulatory compliance programs.
  • To direct, control and manage production departments to maintain plant efficiencies and standards.
  • To prepare standards and budget for direct labor, materials and supplies.
  • To maintain the plant in strict compliance with all regulatory agency standards.
  • To direct the activities of the departmental Managers to ensure maximum production efficiencies at minimum costs, at proper service levels and quality standards.
  • To work with the Human Resources to ensure good employee relations, a safety program, training, discipline and proper manning levels.
  • To conduct timely management meetings to assure communications at all levels of management.
  • To make sure all necessary information is communicated to departments and employees.
  • To see that yearly performance appraisals are completed for all salaried Production employees.
  • To assist in the plant budget process and in the monitoring of the budget.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Complete and submit supervisory appraisals within the deadlines requested.
  • Complete and submit all miscellaneous projects as requested within the time period specified
  • Monitor production schedules to ensure that they meet the demands and requirements of our customers.
Food Safety Production Areas
  • Notify Supervision of any repairs or adjustments that are required.
  • Understand, observe, and comply with the handling and usage of the color-coded container policy while in the Production Areas.
  • Perform all duties necessary to meet American Institute of Baking (AIB), Company, and or Government requirements / standards as prioritized by the Company.
  • Inform Management of ANY Food Safety or Quality issues or of any processes, which become noncompliant with specified requirements.
  • Ability to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system.
  • Identify and record any problems relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the ingredients, processes, quality system, or safety system.
  • Controls further processing or delivery of nonconforming product in terms of Food Safety and Quality issues until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
  • Inform Management of ANY Food Safety or Quality issues or of any processes, which become noncompliant with specified requirements.
  • In the absence of immediate supervisor, will assume necessary operational and administrative duties.

Job Qualifications


Education: B.S. in Industrial Engineering, Business, Engineering or other relevant discipline.

Experience: Minimum 5 plus years of experience in a continuous process manufacturing industry and preferably the food industry.
