Production Manager

Morningstar Foods, a subsidiary of the nation’s leading dairy manufacturer, Dean Foods, currently has an opening for a Production Manager in their Fullerton, CA facility.  The facility, a cultured dairy producer, manufactures a variety of private label yogurt products for retailers and food service. The position provides leadership in support of overall plant production operations to support key plant objectives and performance measurements. 

This applicant should possess knowledge of dairy processing operations and be able to trouble shoot these functions as well as have working knowledge of sanitation and quality assurance procedures to ensure compliance.  Responsible for monitoring and minimizing plant losses, primary duties will include (but are not limited to): Ensuring that production schedules are met in at timely and efficient manner; Responsible for ensuring that crewing is used effectively and efficiently; Responsible for monitoring personnel conduct and work performance; Responsible for supporting plant quality, safety and satiation to ensure policy and standards are met and/or exceeded

• Bachelors degree in related field and a minimum of two years supervisory experience in a food manufacturing environment; or a minimum of five supervisory/managerial experience in a food manufacturing  environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to read and interpret business documents such as audits, regulatory documents and technical manuals
• Strong oral and written communication skills Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
• Good interpersonal and team building skills
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
• Ability to coordinate a high level of activities in a team environment
• Strong business ethics
• Strong math and analytical skills
• Be able to work flexible shifts, as needed
• Computer literate with working knowledge of business software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
• Ability to meet annual budgets and operation objectives
