Production Manager

About the Job

Responsible for production function and meeting Company business and financial objectives. Direct management of production operations and workers, including meeting quantity, quality, schedule and cost objectives, and adherence to safety, quality, governmental and company standards and regulations.


 


Essential Job Duties Include:



  • Work with management to establish production and quality control standards. Plan and direct production activities directly and through subordinate supervisors and/or lead employees.

  • Responsible for scheduling, monitoring of raw material usage and finished goods.

  • REview raw and other material and supply needs, and work with procurement to ensure material needs are met and delivered in a timely manner. Plan future requirements based on orders, production schedules and forecasts.

  • Coordinate production activities with other functions such as procurement, maintenance and quality control to obtain optimum production results.

  • Establish metrics for measuring production results, gather and report data, and take appropriate action based on results, when appropriate.

  • Work with other managers and HR to oversee hire, training, performance appraisal, discpline and termination of production, warehouse and maintenance employees, and resolve employee relations issues

  • Develop budget and cost controls, establish and maintain performance results and report results, as required.

  • Responsible for monitoring and enforcing plant procedures and work rules.

  • Implement and monitor safety programs, to eliminate or reduce the number of unsafe conditions that could result in injury or damage.

  • Conduct regular meetings with crews to include safety, quality and continuous improvement, work area order and policy changes.

  • Schedule equipment maintenance and repair to coordinate with production schedules.

  • Assist plant manager with processing issues.

  • Review all finished paperwork completed on the plant floor.

  • In the plant manager's absence assumes those responsibilities of the plant manager.

 


Additional Duties Could Include:



  • Establishing product formulation, development and modification requirements

  • Manage inventory of materials, parts, tools and/or finished product to maintain required supply

  • Design, repair or modify production equipment

 


Qualified Candidates will have:



  • Associates degree in technical discipline, manufacturing, industrial engineering, or related equivalent.

  • Minimum of 6 years of production experience

  • Minimum of 4 years experience in production management role

  • Experience working with, and enhancing, materials and production methods used in production at facility

  • Minimum two years experience with labor relations

  • Experience working with ERP system, manufacturing, or similar software applications preferred (such as Oracle).

  • Experience working in ISO compliant environment, and implementing required standards.
