Job Summary

Position is responsible for establishing the direction and providing the leadership for the Olathe Production Department. As a member of the site leadership team this person will participate in delivering a strong and robust Manufacturing Excellence Program through TPM philosophy. They will be a part of the TPM Steering Committee and lead the Autonomous Maintenance Pillar. They will be responsible for implementing TPM methodologies/tools in order to improve factory efficiency and reliability, increasing asset utilization, reducing costs and guaranteeing SHEQ standards. Through TPM they will develop a culture of loss control and prevention, aiming at continuous improvement and zero losses.

Key Responsibilities

1. Work with Planning Dept. to ensure an optimal schedule and then safe, efficient, timely delivery of the schedule.

2. Establishing required staffing levels and the necessary recruitment to deliver the plan.

3. Ensure a robust training process is developed, to include SOPs, and delivered for all levels in the Production Department.

4. Assist employees in sharpening and upgrading skills in the workplace and improving ability to investigate and eliminate losses in manufacturing.

5. Ensure production meets or exceeds quality standards by adhering to SOPs.

6. Trouble shoot, identify and assist in developing solutions for issues that are not allowing the facility to run safely and efficiently thereby delivering quality product at agreed costs.

7. Participate in the capital process in the Production Department to include identifying, developing, submitting and implementing capital projects.

8. Participate in Regional Virtual Site Activities.

9. Deliver agreed KPI’s and targets for the Production Department.

Qualifications:

BS in technical area (Engineering, Food Science or related Science). Practical experience in similar position may be considered.

8+ years experience preferably in a liquid manufacturing process.

Demonstrated performance in transformation of a traditional hierarchal organization to a flat autonomous team environment.

Experience working in a union environment a plus.
