STAFF: Managing 5 Supervisors and 55 hourlies
RELOCATION: Available
Manages and has 24-hour responsibility for manufacturing operations and packaging. Focus efforts on ensuring teams are executing activities that safely deliver high quality products, efficient production methods, on-time deliveries, and a continual focus on cost controls. Typical direct reports are at the supervisor level. Responsible for operations and warehousing project implementation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Develops and executes departmental business plan for assigned area of responsibility.
• Manages safety, quality, service and cost performance within assigned area.
• Ensures compliance with the organization's policies and procedures.
• Implements safety, security and sanitation programs.
• Develops and directs programs to ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation and utilization of facility.
• Makes recommendations to senior management on long range labor strategies and capital equipment needs.
• Ensures appropriate communication plan is implemented for all employees.
• Prepares and maintains accurate, timely and complete documentation regarding all aspects of production or warehousing.
• Recommends, supports, justifies and leads the implementation of equipment or facility layout changes.
• Understands and supports internal and external customer requirements.
• Ensures finished product quality standards are understood and consistently met.
• Implements strategies and tactics that align with department and company vision and goals.
• Develops and implements recommendations to change systems, policies, and procedures; ensures timely and accurate implementation.
• Participates in department and interdepartmental planning and management teams and works cross-functionally to improve processes within the organization.
• Develops and maintains operating budget and capital spending plans for assigned area of responsibility.
• Identifies, obtains and develops staff capabilities needed to consistently meet departmental objectives.
• Monitors and ensures achievement of performance goals and objectives either directly or through support staff.
• Balances daily management effort with long term plans in order to ensure continual business success.
• Ensures industry best practices are applied and employees are trained accordingly.
• Must maintain satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
• Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations. If accountable for the work of others, responsible for ensuring their understanding and compliance.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develops, coaches and mentors subordinate staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of operations or manufacturing experience or 9 years operations or manufacturing experience.
• Computer skill requirements include: Intermediate MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Master's degree.
• Experience using discretion when dealing with confidential information.
• Experience reading, analyzing, and interpreting technical and business journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Experience responding to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Skilled at writing articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Experience effectively presenting information to top management, public groups, and boards of directors.
• Experience working with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Experience applying concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Experience defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions. Experience interpreting an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
