













RTI designs, develops and manufactures interactive high-fidelity state-of-the art diagnostics/Troubleshooting Trainers (DT) and Hands-on Trainers (HOTs) that are used for tactical system maintenance. Our simulation environments provide a high-fidelity visual, aural, and temporal simulation of a vehicle and associated test and diagnostic equipment. RTI's simulation infrastructure is modular and provides for the partitioning of the development of a training simulator among different technical domains.
Located in Orlando, Florida the Production Monitor provides oversight, assembly and testing support, and assistance to RTI's subcontractors in the Orlando area. The production monitor is a professional and technical interface between the RTI management and engineering team and subcontractors, and helps ensure that hardware design and manufacturing activities proceed according to cost, schedule, technical, and quality requirements.
Responsibilities:
* Act as subcontractor contact for project.
* Identify, analyze, coordinate, and mitigate program risks
* Develops alternative courses of action for Project Managers to decide upon. Advises management regarding risk mitigation and problem resolution approaches.
* Provide technical guidance and support to project management, support, and other engineering staff.
* Continually assess subcontractor capabilities regarding the ability to meet new and existing requirements.
* Monitor subcontractor status regarding formal deliverables and action items, and make regular reports to the Project Manager.
* Perform critical evaluation of subcontractor manufacturing processes and give recommendations for areas of improvement.
* Creates schedules and track progress using MS Project.
* Performs drawing and design review as well as Physical Configuration Audits.
* Oversee inventory control, GFE processing and control.
* Understand and analyze customer furnished data (drawings, design specifications, manuals and other text or electronic media).
* Review design drawings for consistencies and format, cross component drawings to system drawings for accuracy and evaluate parts list for logistic support of the systems.
* Assist and advise production floor staff.
* Visit customer installations for data collection and to assist in simulator installation, testing, and repair.
* Provide cost estimates and project schedules for proposals.
* Analyze and communicate anticipate effort and time requirements for new project assignments.
* Provide technical mentorship to less experienced staff.
* Perform hardware-software integration
* Conduct hardware and software system-level testing
Qualifications:
* BS or MS in a technical field plus 3 years of experience OR
* 10 years of hands on experience as an industrial/mechanical/electrical engineer in manufacturing operations and engineering.
* Knowledge of military simulators and their production a plus.
* Must be a US Citizen
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
* Familiarity with standard project management tools like MS Project
* Familiarity with part design and manufacturing processes and standards.
* Ability to deal with ambiguous and evolving requirements within budgetary and scheduling constraints.
* Ability to rapidly build trust and rapport with new people at all levels of an organization and strong situational leadership skills.
* Ability to review electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics as a technical expert.
* Demonstrated command of written and spoken English
* Demonstrated presentation and persuasion skills.
