Title: Production Purchasing Assistant (Central Kitchen)
Location: Middlebury, Indiana
Key Responsibilities:
-Procure raw materials in anticipation of operational needs
-Generate the production schedule to ensure order fulfillment and warehouse optimization
-Cultivate vendor relationships to optimize service and operational support
-Conduct inventory audits and reconcile quantities in company manufacturing
-Troubleshoot inventory discrepancies; recommend corrective actions and operational improvements to optimize inventory accuracy
-Maintain proper finished goods inventory levels at the plant and warehouse
-Maintain proper raw material inventory levels in the plant
-Manage vendors to ensure consistency of raw material supply with the help of plant QC
-Collaborate with the QC department and raw material suppliers to optimize quality and reconcile inventories in a timely manner
-Coordinate manufacturing test trials for new materials and improvements
-Proactively identify and communicate supply issues to all levels of the organization
Qualifications:
-Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
-At least 2 years’ relevant work experience, food/beverage industry and manufacturing experience is a plus
-Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with other team members
-Computer proficiency in standard Microsoft Office software
-Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
-Four year degree in Logistics/Operations Management or equivalent production planning experience
