The primary responsibility of this position is to supervise the production process at the El Dorado Springs facility. Provides a direct leadership role to the production team, with responsibility for the manufacturing process for all products manufactured. Ensures processes are understood and consistently executed to ensure consistency and efficiency of the manufacturing process. Works with other functional areas, i.e. Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain to promote the overall efficiency of the El Dorado Springs operation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Directs production crews by leading and supporting the team environment. Teaches and develops the decision-making skills of the production staff.
Provides an active role in the continuous improvement of the production process. Supports and directs area teams to achieve targeted goals.
Plans, coordinates, and advises department employees of work to be completed daily.
Monitors performance of department employees to ensure they follow established standards and procedures such as safety, SOP's, GMP's, housekeeping, etc. Addresses performance deficiencies in the appropriate manner based on the type of deficiency.
Complies with all Federal, State, and Local regulatory requirements and procedures. (FDA, USDA, and EPA included.)
Monitors the production schedule at the plant level and communicates schedule changes to plant scheduler and production employees.
Coordinates work schedules and production schedules to meet production schedule needs.
Monitors and understands actual and targeted manufacturing direct costs, quality measurements, safety performance and sanitation control elements.
Ensures compliance with SOP's, Safety Programs, Safety Training, and OSHA requirements.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in related Technical or Scientific field.
2 or more years of demonstrated work experience in Production in a Food Manufacturing or Food Processing environment, preferably dairy.
1 or more years of supervisory experience, preferably in a unionized environment.
Demonstrated working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Security, HACCP, and Laboratory Methods.
Excellent communication skills, including teaching and coaching.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Demonstrated ability to positively contribute in a team environment.
