The Production Supervisor is the key manufacturing leader reporting to the Production Manager. This position is primarily responsible for overseeing departmental production operations during an assigned operating shift. JOB DUTIES:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for resource planning and production execution in a specific department on the shift. This includes such things as follows: - Ordering of raw materials needed to complete scheduled production quantities.
- Oversee department production input/outputs including:
- Material usage
- Line production rates
- Adherence to product specifications
- Labor usage
- Oversee critical maintenance issues affecting department productivity.
- Monitor product quality issues and coordinate with Quality Control and the Manufacturing Manager to ensure out-of-spec conditions are swiftly and positively corrected and defects contained.
- Monitor personnel practices for GMP compliance and take appropriate corrective actions.
- Monitor personnel compliance to all policies and procedures and take appropriate corrective actions.
- Coach and develop Team Leaders and production staff to build a strong team.
- Evaluate manufacturing systems and process procedures, seeking continuous improvement. Suggest and implement department improvement ideas that enhance product quality, cost and efficiency, manufacturing process variance control and personnel practices.
- Coordinate the exchange of vital information from one shift to the next to ensure a seamless transition of the department.
- Complete daily operational reports as requested by the Production Manager.
- Review and validate daily time and attendance for all department employees assigned to the shift.
- Other duties and/or projects as assigned by immediate supervisor.

Job Qualifications
EDUCATION: - A degree in a related or applicable field is highly desired, but industry experience will be considered.
- Industry technical training (such as AIB courses) is highly recommended.
EXPERIENCE: - 3-5 years experience in food manufacturing management.
- Must have a proven progression of leadership positions in a manufacturing environment--baking industry experience is preferred.
